04. Setting Up a Company in Cyprus

From Incorporation to Operating, in one Coordinated Process

Registering a Cyprus company, covered in full on our dedicated Company Registration Cyprus page, is only the first step. Auditnet takes new businesses through everything that follows: a working bank account, tax and VAT registration, employer registration, and the substance to operate properly from day one.

Frequently Asked
Questions

What's the difference between this page and Company Registration Cyprus?

Company Registration Cyprus covers the registration procedure itself: company type, name approval, incorporation documents and Registrar filing. This page covers everything that follows, bank account, tax and VAT registration, employer registration and substance, so the company can actually start operating.

How long does it take to open a Cyprus bank account?

It varies significantly by bank and by the complexity of the ownership structure, and is usually the least predictable step in the process. Preparing a complete KYC and AML file upfront is the single biggest factor in keeping it on track.

Do I need to register for VAT immediately?

Not necessarily. VAT registration is mandatory once taxable turnover exceeds €15,600 in any rolling 12-month period, with a 30-day window to register from that point. Voluntary registration below the threshold is also available and can make sense in some cases, covered in more detail on our Tax and VAT Advice page.

When do I need to register as an employer?

Before your first payroll run. Registration with Social Insurance Services and setting up GESY contributions both need to be in place before you can legally pay a first employee.

Can Auditnet handle the whole setup process, not just registration?

Yes. Registration, bank account preparation, tax and VAT registration, employer registration, and the business substance and administration work that follows are coordinated as one process through our team, rather than treated as separate, disconnected tasks.
